An investigation in and around the city would highlight Elephant Hill, one of the Li River’s most famous sights and a symbol of Guilin. The outcrop resembles an elephant dipping its trunk into the Lijiang River. 5 km to the northwest of the city is Reed Flute Cave, a limestone formation containing some of the most extraordinary scenery with a myriad of shapes, colours and formations. Seven Star Park is one of the best urban parks in China and has something for just about everyone.

FULL DAY LI RIVER CRUISE INCLUDING LUNCH

Cruise 83 km down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo. Throughout this cruise, one could catch a sight of the most extraordinary limestone peaks, lush bamboo thriving alongside the riverbank, local fisherman in small boats and picturesque riverside villages with local people going about their daily chores. The river provides a transport route for a mix of vessels, most of which are tourist cruises.

FULL DAY LONGSHENG RICE TERRACES INCLUDING LUNCH

About 100 km north of Guilin, the 60 sq km of terraced rice fields were first built in the Yuan dynasty (AD1206-1368) and completed during the Qing dynasty (AD1644-1911) by the Zhuang people. The terraced fields are built along the slopes winding from the riverside up to the mountain top. The highest place of elevation is 885 m while the lowest is 380 m. The coiling line spirals up from the foot of the mountain to the peak, thus making it appear as a huge snail when seen from a distance. You will also visit some villages of local ethnic tribes.
