TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrive Beijing
Arrive Beijing where you will be met and transferred to the Dong Fang Hotel for a three night stay. (D)

Day 2 - Beijing
Tour the major sights today with visits to the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square. Take a pedicab ride through the Hutongs, an area of narrow lanes and traditional homes. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Great Wall excursion
Travel north of the city to walk on the Great Wall of China. Marvel at the sight of this amazing structure snaking over the hills and valleys as far as the eye can see. On the way back to Beijing, spend time at the Ming Tombs and walk among the unique statues on the Sacred Way. A Peking Duck banquet is included for dinner tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Depart Beijing
Visit the Zoo to see the giant panda, then take a pleasant stroll in the grounds of the Summer Palace. Visit the striking Temple of Heaven, and after dinner, board your train for the overnight journey to Xian. Accommodation is in four-share, soft class sleepers. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Arrive Xian
Arrive Xian early this morning and transfer to Qin Dynasty Hotel for breakfast and a two night stay. After time to refresh, your sightseeing of this former capital includes the impressive City Wall, and the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum with its fine archaeological exhibits. Dinner is a Dumpling Banquet at the Tang Dynasty Dance show. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Xian
A highlight is a visit to the amazing archaeological relics of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Included is a full circle movie presentation which provides the historical perspective for what you will see in the main exhibition halls. Later visit the 6,000 year old remains of Banpo Village. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Xian to Shanghai
Visit the Bell Tower and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Fly to Shanghai this afternoon and stay three nights at the Xin Mei East China Hotel. See the dazzling night lights of this modern Shanghai on an evening Huangpu River cruise. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Shanghai
Your city tour today will include the lovely Yu Gardens and a panoramic view of old and new Shanghai from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Visit the Shanghai Museum and People’s Square. Tonight’s Acrobatic Show is a treat! (B,L,D)

Day 9 - Zhu Jia Jiao Excursion
Leave the big city for a day in the quaint water village of Zhu Jia Jiao. Explore the old streets, crisscrossed with canals, and visit local homes to learn about the traditional trades and crafts of the area. (B,L,D)

Day 10 - Depart Shanghai
The morning is free for last minute shopping. Transfer to the airport by the very fast Maglev train for your exit flight. (B)
