Day 1 – Arrive Chengdu On arrival in Chengdu you will be met and transferred to the Tianfu Sunshine Hotel. (D)
Day 2 - Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou Fly to Jiuzhaigou (Nine Villages Valley) and transfer by road to the scenic area of Huanglong (Yellow Dragon Valley), a lush valley studded with waterfalls and colourful terraced lakes. After plenty of time to meander to scenic spots, drive on to Jiuzhaigou for a two night stay at the New Jiuzhai Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Jiuzhaigou An astonishingly beautiful park, Jiuzhaigou has been listed for protection by the World Natural Heritage Society. The scenery varies with the distinctive seasons. Jiuzhaigou is the water source of Jialing River, a tributary of the Yangtze River. The valley is a Y shape embraced by green mountains with an abundance of natural wonders that combine to create a heavenly landscape. Immerse yourself in the beauty with visits to Shuzheng Lake, Zechawa Visage, and Rize Gully. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Jiuzhaigou to Mt Ermei Fly back to Chengdu and travel by road to Leshan. Take a boat trip on the river to view the Giant Buddha of Leshan Mountain, the largest in the world. Drive on to Mt. Ermei and stay two nights at the Hong Zhu Shan Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Mt Ermei A full day of sightseeing in another World Heritage site, revered by Chinese for centuries as a holy place. Take the cable car to Golden Summit and Wanian Temple. Be prepared for misty and cooler conditions and watch your footing - good walking shoes are a must to fully appreciate the stunning mountain views. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Mt Ermei to Chengdu Return to Chengdu by road and take a city tour of Chengdu, visiting Du Fu Cottage and the Panda Breeding Centre. Stay overnight at the Tianfu Sunshine Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 7 – Chengdu to Lijiang Walk down the colourful, narrow alley lined with joss-stick vendors, flower and firecracker sellers leading to the Wenshu Temple. Fly to Lijiang in Yunnan Province this evening and stay two nights at the Jian Nan Chun Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 8 – Lijiang Spend time in a traditional Naxi Village, where life has gone on relatively unchanged for hundreds of years. Visit Black Dragon Pool to see reflections of distant snow capped mountains, a Tibetan Lamasery, the Mu Family Palace, and the town market. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - Lijiang to Dali Time to wander at leisure this morning through the Old Town of Lijiang, an area of cobbled streets lined with wooden shop-houses and fast flowing canals. Drive to Dali and stay two nights at the Asia Star Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 10 – Dali Learn about Bai village culture with visits to the market, a tea-tasting, and a tie dying demonstration in a local home. (B,L,D)
Day 11 - Dali to Kunming Fly to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Visit the Western Hills for the breathtaking views, and the Bamboo Temple in its woodland setting. Stay one night at the Kunming Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 12 - Kunming to Guilin Wander through the Flower Market – the crowded stalls offer rewarding visual treats. Visit the Golden Palace, a Taoist Temple built in a pine forest atop Phoenix Song Mountain. Fly to Guilin in the afternoon and stay one night at the Bravo Hotel. On the drive from the airport you will begin to see some of the limestone mountains for which the area is famous. (B,L,D)
Day 13 - Li River cruise to Yangshuo A most memorable day will be spent cruising the Li River surrounded by scenery of indescribable beauty. Limestone peaks rise from lush bamboo groves, and fisherman can be seen poling their rafts along the lazy currents. After lunch onboard your cruise boat, disembark at the market town of Yangshuo. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the town. Stay two nights at the New Century Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 14 - Yangshuo A day at leisure to perhaps cycle in the picturesque countryside, or soak up the atmosphere in the market and outdoor cafes. (B)
Day 15- Yangshuo to Guilin Drive back to Guilin and stay another night at the Bravo Hotel. Visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of the city, climb Fubo Hill, and tour the massive Reed Flute Caves. (B,L,D)
Day 16 - Depart Guilin Your tour concludes this morning with a transfer to Guilin airport for onward flights. (B)
